Top-quality Rieslings in harmony with nature is the credo at Bürklin-Wolf, where the history goes back to the 16th century. Nevertheless, there is no lack of innovation. In 2005, all areas were converted to bio-dynamic cultivation in order to perfectly utilise the potential of the first-class vineyards. This is also noticeable in the local wines. The Riesling from the Forster vineyards is the primus inter pares here. The 2022 is characterised – in addition to the stone fruit tones typical of Riesling – by the fine aroma of ripe citrus fruit. There are also herbal notes, a deep minerality, some smoke and tobacco, but above all an inspiringly long finish characterised by fine acidity. A blend that earned JAMES SUCKLING an impressive 94 points (for a local wine).
