The „second wine‘ from Tenuta dell’Ornellaia also benefited from almost perfect conditions throughout the entire harvest period. Freshness and concentration balance each other out, creating a very harmonious and flattering wine. Underneath, almost lurking a little, is the concentration that is characteristic of the 2021 vintage in Bolgheri and which reveals itself at the latest in the long-lasting finish characterised by spice. Critics‘ ratings in the mid-90s testify to the special quality of the 2021 Le Serre, which, in view of this class, is not really aptly described as a second wine. Quite a few estates in Tuscany would be happy to bottle this quality as a first wine.
