During our trip to Burgundy last year, we made an amazing discovery. We were not really familiar with the Xavier Monnot winery beforehand. It is located right in Beaune and we were immediately impressed by both the friendliness of the owner and his wines. The style of the house is very hedonistic. We were allowed to taste the entire range and both the white wines and the red wines are all excellent! I particularly remember the single vineyard Les Chevaliers in Meursault. The 2019 is particularly pleasing with its fine, elegant fruit and subtle use of wood. The typical virtues of a Meursault with its beautiful hazelnut flavour come into their own here. This man knows his craft!
