In Australia, there are two main grape varieties in the red wine sector: Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. At Penfolds, Bin 707 is the great Cabernet Sauvignon counterpart to the Shiraz (Syrah) icon Grange. And just like the latter, the grapes do not come from a single vineyard, but are a cuvée from Penfolds‘ best sites. Typical Cabernet Sauvignon aromas such as cassis and cedar wood fill the nose, along with some mint and plenty of florality. The whole thing is so dense and intense and in perfect balance! The silky tannins and fine acidity create the perfect harmony at the end.
