It is a relatively young variety that was only released for general cultivation in 2012. Hüll is working feverishly to meet the ever-growing needs of modern brewers with new, flavorful and interesting hops. Mandarina Bavaria was a real hit and has become the favorite of many breweries around the world. The reason for the enthusiasm is the aroma profile, which is an excellent match for IPAs and other contemporary beer styles: The hops deliver juicy notes of various citrus fruits, tropical hints and a fine fruit acidity. The Veldensteiner brewery from Neuhaus an der Pegnitz proves that Mandarina Bavaria can also mix up tried-and-tested classics with its wheat beer of the same name. The team has created a special brew with the aromatic green gold, which combines the classic taste of a wheat beer with the strong citrus notes of the hop variety. The strictly limited brew has already won numerous awards and beat all competitors in its category at the World Beer Awards in 2022.
