Now the master brewers are also catering to the needs of those who like to drink a low-alcohol beer. And, as expected, they do so masterfully.With a gentle 1.2% alcohol content, Hansla is clearly one of the brewery’s tamer beers, but it doesn’t have to hide behind its more alcoholic colleagues. The smoked beer appears in a magnificent chestnut brown in the glass and carries a stately crown of airy, slightly tinted foam on its head. A fine malt bouquet tickles the olfactory nerves: roasted grain, smoked meats, caramelized nuts and oven-fresh bread invite you to take your first sip. The first sip presents a surprisingly light-footed body with a cornucopia of strong flavor nuances. Soft and pleasantly sweet, the roasted malt spreads out on the tongue with caramel notes. A nice bitterness and an omnipresent smoky aroma give the beer its zing.
