More information about El Ladron Yolo agave brandy As the first agave brandy produced in California, Venus Spirits uses pit ovens to cook the agaves for its El Ladrón Yolo. The agaves used also come exclusively from the Californian Yolo County that gives the brand its name. The agave hearts, which are aged for six to seven years, are cooked in the traditional way on almond wood for seven days before their juice is extracted and, after 10 days of fermentation, distilled twice in copper stills. Before bottling, El Ladrón Yolo is allowed to rest for six months in steel tanks, where it develops its fine character. Its aroma of exotic fruits and a hint of spiciness with a light smoky note make it a wonderful agave spirit that lovers of this special category of spirits should not miss.
