This fortified dessert wine made from Malbec (40%) and Shiraz (60%) grapes is best enjoyed at the end of a delicious meal in combination with cheese or chocolate. Incidentally, this dessert wine has been produced by the fifth generation of the Malherbe family. With the help of her father Francois, Lizel Malherbe created the Cape Ruby Grandpa’s 1942 Ford at the age of 16 during the school vacations. The dessert wine owes its name to Francois‘ grandfather’s 1942 Ford, which can also be seen on the label and which was used to transport fruit and grapes to the market.
