The World Beer Cup is one of the biggest competitions in the beer sector and attracts more and more breweries every year. The brews are divided into almost one hundred categories and measured against each other; the winners receive bronze, silver and gold medals. The brewers come from all corners of the world and there are now more than 55 participating countries presenting a total of almost 7000 beers. A panel of renowned experts from the beer industry evaluate the submitted brews and present the coveted awards. Participation in the World Beer Cup can not only bring breweries one of the medals, but also catapults them into the focus of international attention. This was also the case for Hirschbräu: the Sonthofen brewery won a gold medal at the World Beer Cup 2012 with its dark Doppelbock Doppel-Hirsch, making a name for itself on the global beer market. Their Goldjunge is a powerful strong beer with a full 7.2% alcohol content, which presents itself in a shimmering copper chestnut brown in the glass. This delicacy is wonderfully malty and absolutely worth trying!
