It is a region of great historical significance and was very important for the establishment of sugar cane in Brazil.However, with the decline of the economy, the land was abandoned and the farm became a ruin. It was not until 2004 that Luis Galletti, who was fed up with the hectic life in São Paulo, decided to buy and restore the farm in order to grow sugar cane again and produce the legendary Rio do Engenho cachaca.The Rio do Engenho Ouro cachaça is aged for at least 2 years in Castanheira and Louro Canela wooden barrels. It has an intense golden yellow color and a distinct aroma.
