More information about Brauhaus Faust Brauerreserve 1237 Beer is a beverage that is usually enjoyed fresh. Many beers have an expiration date and no longer taste ideal once this date has passed. To bridge times of war and unforeseeable disasters, people used to always have a reserve in the cellar to be on the safe side. A beer that was still drinkable even after a long storage period and could be consumed when fresh beer was not available. The Faust brewery has developed such a reserve beer: Braureserve 1237. The beer’s unusual name refers to the history of reserve beers and the town history of Miltenberg. The home of Brauhaus Faust was first mentioned in documents in 1237 – an occasion to dedicate a beer to!Braureserve 1237 is a creamy beer with a velvety-soft mouthfeel and gently sparkling carbon dioxide. It flows into the glass in a shimmering chestnut brown and forms a beige head. The special thing about this beer is the regional wine yeast with which the hop brew is fermented. After the brewing process, the beer is aged for several months in specially designed wooden barrels and develops its exceptional, characterful taste deep down in the rock cellar. The brewed reserve enchants with a rich fruity bouquet of raspberry, melon, strawberry and plum. The barrel maturation ensures a full-bodied taste reminiscent of rum pot and bourbon whiskey. The brewers at Faust have created a masterful balance of sweet and sour notes, and the incomparable character of barrel-aged beers comes to the fore in the finish, making Braureserve 1237 a very special beer specialty.Extremely successful and far too good to be kept in the cellar as a reserve for a rainy day!
