They love these majestic, independent and freedom-loving animals and are committed to ridding their habitat of garbage and plastic and making the protection of whales a global priority. However, their latest work Free Willy is not about the marine giants, but about human freedom. We do not enjoy the same freedom everywhere on this earth, and in Ukraine not only freedom but also peace has just been overturned.They met Martin from the Ukrainian brewery Varvar at the Franconian Beer Festival in their home town of Nuremberg. Because Martin is a British citizen, he was allowed to leave Ukraine when the war broke out and has been traveling through Europe and the world ever since, brewing beer for peace together with other breweries and raising money for his compatriots. The proceeds from the joint brew with Orca go to the association Charkiw Nürnberg e.V., which helps locally.Free Willy, known as ВiЛЬНИЙ ВiЛЛi in Ukrainian, is a strong gose that has been refined with apricot and sea buckthorn in addition to the classic sea salt and coriander seeds. The brew is wonderfully creamy and delights with the sweetness of ripe apricots, a harmonious fruit acidity and delicate citrus notes.
