Richard Richter’s 2019 Auslese from the Winninger Brückstück is a Riesling from botrytized grapes with 140? Oechsle. The Auslese is complex and deep, with a wonderful fragrance of pineapple, Williams pear, and quince jelly, alongside hints of petrol, Asian spices, and slate smoke. On the palate, this is a profoundly delightful, juicy, yellow-fruited Riesling with dense consistency, notes of honey, butterscotch, and marzipan, combining intensity with freshness.
