In 1997, Toni Bodenstein planted an experimental vineyard at the top of Achleiten. The planting material was a Selection Massale from historical genetics of Grüner Veltliner in Austria. Today, this is one of the best vineyards ever for this variety, which is planted in a soil with flint and chalk components. Matured in stainless steel with long lees ageing, the 2019 „Wachstum Bodenstein‘ is a tobacco, herbal and deep Grüner Veltliner with a very subtle tropical fruit and some pomaceous fruit. In addition to the fruit, this wine is characterised above all by its structure and texture, intensity and vitality, cool freshness, salty, mouth-watering minerality and power.
