A dense Riesling characterised by tropical fruit (passion fruit!), white peach, grapefruit and floral notes with a good bite and a firm acid structure grows on calcareous, sandy Danube gravel, loess and loess loam in the Kremstal ?–TW Erste Lage Silberbichl vineyard. This is accompanied by salty-mineral impressions, other citrus flavours such as lime, herbal tones and a hint of ginger. Hand-picking, spontaneous fermentation and ageing in large wooden barrels also reflect the vinological philosophy of the estate, which has been in operation for 300 years (or 10 generations).
