This is not just a local wine from Forst, it is something like a „small‘ Grand Cru from old vineyards in the Forster Jesuitengarten and Pechstein, comparable to a „Village‘ from Meursault Charmes or Perrières from a masterful winery. One like Dr. Bürklin-Wolf. The 2023 „Riesling Forst‘ is reminiscent of rock, smoke, yeast and graphite, grapefruit, apple, peach and mint. On the palate, the Riesling is polished, clear and lively, deep, smoky with aniseed spice, a penetrating acidity structure, finesse, density and length. A masterpiece among local wines.
