Cassis, cherry, mocha, black chocolate, pencil – once again, the Dominus proves to be one of the world’s best Bordeaux blends vinified far from the Gironde. The grape variety mix of the 2018 also varies only marginally compared to 2016 or 2018 – this time the ratio of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc is 90 to 4 to 6. This does little to change the elegant, finesse-rich character of this Napa Valley icon. The critics awarded 98 points across the board, once again confirming the exceptional status of the wine produced under the leadership of Petrus owner Christian Moueix. Just 3,500 cases were produced in 2019.
