The (somewhat younger) vines grown as part of a collaboration between Dominique Lafon (Comtes Lafon) and Olivier Merlin in the tiny Clos des Quarts (2.2 hectares) thrive on one of the best terroirs in the Maconnais region, with its limestone-clay soils. This is where fascinating wines full of power and minerality are produced! Subtle notes of yellow fruits and light flowers, supported by ripe acidity, end in a long, smoky finish.
